Leopardwood
Flecked like the animal it is named after. Takes lacquer better than anything else on our bench.
Leopardwood earns its name honestly.
Those flecks are medullary rays, and they only show properly if the board is cut on the quarter. That means less usable wood out of every log, and we pay more for it. It is the right trade and we would make it again.
This is the cue we hand to people who come by the shop, because it takes lacquer better than anything else we cut. We build the finish in thin coats over several days and cut it back by hand between each one. Spraying it heavy and sanding once would save us four days. It would also look like it.
Warm russet ground, bright flecks scattered across it, black leather wrap and the turquoise ring. It is the loudest cue we make and we are fine with that.

We are shooting our own leopardwood build this month and the pictures will go up here as soon as they are done. We would rather show you nothing than show you a photograph of something we did not make.

How it is built
- Forearm and butt sleeve quartersawn leopardwood, solid
- Inlay turquoise petal ring, cut and seated by hand
- Finish hand rubbed lacquer, thin coats cut back between each one
- Wrap full grain black leather, hand stitched
- Weight 19 oz standard, 18 to 21 oz on request
- Build time 10 to 14 days from the day you confirm

We have been selling to players in Vietnam for years. Shipping abroad is the new part, so these are the first customers overseas to write back. More will go up here as they come, good and otherwise, and we will not be quietly deleting the bad ones.
