Key takeaways

  • The 2026 Roobet Reyes Cup is played Oct. 15-18 at Makati Coliseum in Makati, Manila, Philippines.
  • In the US, every session streams live on ESPN+ through the ESPN App, starting at 7 a.m. ET each day.
  • Team Rest of the World (captain Ralf Souquet): Shane Van Boening, Fedor Gorst, Francisco Sanchez Ruiz, Joshua Filler and Aleksa Pecelj.
  • Team Asia (captain Francisco Bustamante) has won both previous editions, 11-6 in 2024 and 11-3 in 2025.

How can you watch the 2026 Reyes Cup in the US?

If you want to know how to watch the Reyes Cup 2026 in the US, the answer is ESPN+. The World Nineball Tour confirmed on Oct. 8 that every session of the four-day team event will stream live on ESPN+ through the ESPN App, with coverage starting at 7 a.m. Eastern each morning from Thursday, Oct. 15, through Sunday, Oct. 18 (World Nineball Tour).

Because the matches are played in Manila, those 7 a.m. starts are evening sessions in the Philippines, so West Coast fans will be tuning in at 4 a.m. Pacific. Viewers outside the US can follow on WNT TV, the tour’s own streaming service, and the organizers say more international broadcast partners are still to be announced.

The ESPN+ deal follows the agreement announced in June that put the Mosconi Cup and the US Open Pool Championship on ESPN platforms, which means American fans now have a single place to find most of Matchroom’s biggest team and open events.

Who is on Team Asia and Team Rest of the World?

Both five-player rosters were finalized this week. Team Rest of the World, now captained by seven-time Mosconi Cup winner Ralf Souquet of Germany in place of Jeremy Jones, has Shane Van Boening as the top-ranked American, Spain’s Francisco Sanchez Ruiz as the top-ranked European, plus Fedor Gorst (a Souquet pick who represents the USA), Germany’s Joshua Filler and tour wildcard Aleksa Pecelj of Serbia. Filler and Pecelj are Reyes Cup rookies.

Team Asia, led again by Francisco “Django” Bustamante, fields Carlo Biado of the Philippines, Hong Kong’s Robbie Capito, 2025 MVP AJ Manas, Vietnam’s Duong Quoc Hoang (back for his third straight Reyes Cup on the tour wildcard) and Indonesia’s Albert Januarta. Manas and Januarta are captain’s picks, and the most notable omission is world No. 1 Aloysius Yapp, MVP of the first edition.

The lineup has real form behind it: Sanchez Ruiz won the 2026 US Open Pool Championship in August by beating Capito in a hill-hill final, and Filler arrives fresh from his Bali Open win.

Can Rest of the World finally beat Team Asia?

History says it will be hard. Team Asia beat Team Europe 11-6 in the inaugural 2024 event, then routed a Rest of the World side 11-3 in 2025, leading 7-0 after two days. Across the two editions Asia has outscored its opponents 22-9.

Matchroom says this year’s format adds more doubles play, with different player pairings across the four days, which puts extra weight on how well Souquet can combine Van Boening, Gorst and Filler. For American fans, the Reyes Cup is also the last high-level team test before the Mosconi Cup in Orlando, Nov. 27-30.

From the workshop

Team formats like this one reward players who can step to the table cold after sitting for an hour and still trust their stroke. That is mostly about consistency in the cue itself: the same weight, balance and tip shape every time you pick it up. Pros on these rosters rarely change equipment mid-season, and league players who switch playing cues week to week give away that same consistency.

If you are watching the doubles sessions and wondering why one player looks so smooth, pay attention to grip position and how little the cue moves on the bridge hand. A cue built to your balance point and wrap length makes that easier to repeat. If you want a playing cue matched to how you stroke, start with our build-your-own cue options.
